TREND FORECAST: Biker Jacket

August 21, 2013

"Ber" month is now comming here in the Philippines, and its the perfect time to bring back or buy a pair of jacket for the rainy and cold season. Biker jackets are one of the "It" things on the runway abroad, and now is the perfect time for my fellow Filipino Fashionistas to put on a Trendy Biker jacket for the upcoming months of the year. The Biker Jackets first came to the world after the WWII. Intended to Symbolize, Rebellion and Rock and Roll. The jackets were actually banned in school systems around the U.S. because they symbolized a growing teen demographic, The Hoodlum in that time and fashion Era. The Famous American Actor James Dean was Iconic for wearing the so called Perfecto(biker jacket) that time. Yves Saint Laurent was the first to introduce the Perfecto-inspired jacket at the runway in 1960. The jacket was appearing at big fashion houses of Chanel and Versace by the end of the late 80's, as the contemporary jackets were showcased in a more tailored and fitting silhouettes in different textures as well as the aesthetics of the jacket.

Versace, Calvin Klein, Salvatore Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton

Biker Jackets were prominent in the runways this year in different Brands like Versace; that was able to experiment with texture and animal leathers. from studed glitter, plane jacket with gold zips and button, an ostrich like texture and reptile skin on the material.

Calvin Klein incorporated color and reptile skin on their jacket collection

Salvatore Ferragamo played their biker jackets with squared texture, ring hole, and transparent materials with white lining pattern and square blocks.

Here are some collections from Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, Belstaff, Balmain, Balenciaga, Paul Smith, Roberto Cavalli, Marc Jacobs, and McQ Alexander McQueen

Louis Vuitton Island
Singapore has always been one of the places I love on this earth, also when it comes to Fashion. Where most people in the country expresses themselves thoroughly of their own approach of aesthetics. Louis Vuitton Island
can be found at the 5star Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Singapore has a very humid weather like the Philippines, and wearing many layers of clothes will surely give you a tub of sweat. But there are no worries, choosing the blazer perfect for the summer; paring it with shorts and gladiator sandals to achieve an edgey fashionable gentlemen look. Choosing a blazer fabric that is light and not cotton, instead of wearing a linen fabric underneath we can alternate with a cotton polo shirt fabric. that will keep you cool all the way. A gladiator sandals to give a different combination as well as air to you feet. then SHORTS! it will always give a summer look to whatever outfit youre gonna wear on a summer weather.

Sweat shirt by IZZUE, Long sleeves by New Look, Jeans By Lee Cooper, Shoes by H&M

Wearing a fashionable sweater and a striped long sleeve was a perfect idea for the perfect weather and place. Matching my neutrals shade from white to gray and black with a little hint of blue for the cloudy weather in HongKong, as well as in Macau. I'm more of a polish look as you can see in my styles but I'm willing to go out of the box sooner in the future, and still place my identity that I want for myself. "be classy and never trashy" was something I always put in my mind,
every time I'am going to buy or pick an outfit that I'm going to wear. the rain and shine was very unpredictable during my trip so I decided to wear a faux leather shoes to keep my feet and socks dry from the rain. As to my previous entries, a sudden rain would wet my fabric made material shoes and my socks that makes you a  uncomfortable and bothersome because of the cold in your feet especially the feeling of damp in your shoes. It was not a good idea to wear a fabric material on a rainy season. I didn't had the privileged to bring many shoes as I can; because I'm only allowed to check in 15 kg of baggage on my way to hongkong and it would only be total waste of money add some extra baggage just for the sake of clothing. and I blame the shoes for weight and space in my luggage haha! I dont want to risk using my charms for the free excess baggage like I remember when I was going back home to the Philippines from Singapore. I was carrying a hand weight more than my allowed kilos.Take it note, I was carrying two bags with a shopping bag that makes it three and I had to wear my heaviest shoes which was my boots to lessen the weight of my hand carry buddy bag so everything would be clear. lesson LEARNED!

Ranger Look.

August 07, 2013

After watching the G.I. Joe Retaliation; I got inspired to pull off something rangerish and grab a denim jacket and Aviator sunglasses that I'm obsessed with while I was at the Diamond Hotel. Pairing it with a gray cream shorts and still Incorporating my style. The jacket was actually a Varsity denim style and it was risky for me to come up with this because, I don't want to look varsity but aim for the ranger. thank you for the aviator and the shorts that completed and blended with my whole ranger-ish look.
